Having a baby or babies is one of the most incredible journeys of your life. To create a living being, grow them, feel their movements and then bring them into the world is wonderous.
I remember with my oldest the unknown I was facing as my labour progressed. I recall the emotions that flooded through me once he was born. Relief the pain was over, on top of the world I had managed it, was he a boy or girl? Then as time passed I was obsessed with his tiny hands and toes.
My 2nd son I was much better prepared and I knew what I was in for. I laboured in a pool, I knew what I did and didn't like during my labour and when he was born I was amazed I had done so well with my tall 10lb 6oz boy.
My twins were a c-section, kind of a relief as I was exhausted with various complications before they were born. I faced the unknown again but with a great hospital team around me all was well.
Each birth incredibly different, each one a miracle of life. Each one I only have memories for.
Photographing a birth is more than down there. It's what the day was like? The support team around you, the raw emotions of you and your partner. I've been fortunate to have photographed some family and friends birth and each one was an honour. Each mother has commented back saying how they forgot about moments of the labour and how they love the images they have.
I can be hands on with Reiki, giving Dad/support person a break as well as being totally discreet in the background barely noticeable. Entirely your call.....we can meet up before hand to get to know each other and be comfortable first. Your needs come first and foremost.
